Vol State 2018 – 156 hour update – I don’t know if I can do it

I don’t want to drop out, I’ve come so far…but, my god, I’m not sure I can write another update. My last real sleep was days ago. The finish, 8 updates ahead, seems impossibly far off. Vol State 2018 – 144 hour update – On the 7th day, they rested?!?!

Ha! Are you kidding me? On the seventh day, the volstaters….didn’t even dare to dream of resting. Vol State 2018 – 132 hour update – 10 runners in, 75 still fighting demons

Nearly all day we waited for the next finisher, Salt Shack snuck under 5.5 days. The cagey veteran missed his lofty time goal, but still managed his 5th! volstate finish. The top 10 are in. Vol State 2018 – 120 hour update – half way home

5 days down, 5 days to go. The early morning saw the podium filled out King Grant Rhoda Andrea Brian and Alan nipped a severely struggling Regina To round out the sub-5 finishes. Rich Flint pushed all day and night, but came up 19 minutes shy of a sub-5, but had the consolation of a sub-5 in a prior year.
