all day the runners have been arriving at the rock.
so many happy faces
so many personal victories…
.
so many reasons that people choose to face the vol state.
it is impossible not to feel renewed by the joy at the finish line
as each runner comes in
takes their seat on the thrown
and tells their stories.
there is laughter
there are tears.
chapters are added to the decades of vol state history.
and new members initiated into the family of 314.
.
there is a little sadness as the numbers wind down.
only 8 runners are left,
and all have picked up trackers.
slowly they move along the longest 14 miles.
.
the 10 days of magic are almost at an end.
and oprah is all alone at the back.
