Description: This beautiful plant performs best in full sun, but it has been found in a range of moisture and shade conditions. In the wild, it is found from riverbottom woodlands to wet prairies to dry, open fields. In flower it attracts scores of butterflies-in seed it attracts songbirds. This is a very beautiful plant with and unusual purple color. It does very well in rain gardens.
